I’ve always been a gas stove person. Induction felt like one of those ‘sounds good in theory’ things that would just be annoying in real life. But my daughter kept raving about hers, so when I needed an extra burner for canning season, I figured—why not.
Turns out, this induction burner is impressive. Honestly, I’ve started wondering why I didn’t switch sooner.
The best part? Tap power once, hold ‘+’, and it jumps straight to full heat. Feels just like gas, but without the whole ‘did the pilot go out again?’ worry. Plus, it has a built-in timer, so I don’t need to stand there babysitting it.
Cleanup’s a breeze too—spill something, just wipe and it’s done.
One note: your pots need magnetic bottoms. My 23 qt Presto pressure pot didn’t work, so I picked up a 20 qt NutriChef canning pot instead, and it handles the big pot with no problem. My All-Clad pans work fine, but the copper pot was a no-go. If a magnet sticks, you’re good.
All jokes aside, if you’ve been on the fence about induction, this one’s definitely worth considering. Solid build, compact size—exactly what I needed.
